A Pair of Needle-Nose Pliers

 Two Pairs of Pins (optional)

Step No. 1

✅ Turn the recliner over so you get to see the internal mechanism of the recliner footrest.

✅ Once you take off the cover you’ll see the ratchet.

✅ You’ll see there are two mini springs attached to the end of ratchet. The springs are present on both sides.

Step No. 2

✅ The springs are held tightly with the help of four little pins.

✅ Using a pair of needle-nose pliers you’ll remove the pins first. Once you’ve taken off all four pins the springs will automatically pop up.

✅ Now you’re going to have to do a reverse engineering. Take the new springs and hold them in between the two pins. Tighten the pins using pliers and the job is done.
